Solving for scope 3 emissions in the logistics industry
We built a data space to enable leading logistics companies to share scope 3 emission data.
The story
The logistics sector is facing significant challenges in decarbonization efforts due to a lack of data sharing between shippers and suppliers. SFC has a strong community, but competitors fear losing competitive advantage.
Think-it’s role
We built a Data Space utilizing a peer-to-peer approach and the EDC to enable sovereign and secure exchange between participants. Leveraging the EDC and K8S on top of AWS allows for quick and efficient deployment, onboarding and data sharing to see immediate business value.
Why it mattered
For Amazon, we enabled a 15x increase in productivity, allowing them to complete a data task in 2 hours instead of 30 hours.
Additionally, Proving the feasibility of sovereign data sharing unlocks calculating Scope 3 Emissions (which can account for up to 80% of an organizations carbon footprint) between global competitors revolutionizes emissions data exchange in the logistics industry and pushes towards a more sustainable future.
